Alnet
has been supplying the mining industry with various nets and knitted fabrics since
1974. In close co-operation with the mining industry, Alnet has developed innovative
products for mining application with our safety nets, backfill bags, grout bags,
techno bags, ropes & twines range and reflective tape.
Alnet
Safety Nets have been designed and manufactured to protect lives and prevent
damage to equipment in the daily operating environment. Alnet Safety Nets
are manufactured to the highest quality standards and have been tested by the
SABS to withstand tremendous impact of rock-and human falls. Our nets conform
to the Mine Health and Safety Act Regulations.
Alnet
Safety Nets are knotted nets manufactured from High Density Polyethylene raw material.
The Polyethylene will not rot, run, absorb moisture, or decay when exposed
to most chemicals and ground water found in mines.

offers professional advice and training to mines on the application and installation
of our mining safety nets.

Application:
The nets are used to cover ore passes and box holes. The products are used by
Proto teams to install barricades that prevent miners from traveling in dangerous
areas. The safety nets are also suspended above and below miners working in shafts.

Net rope diameter: 6mm made from High Density Polyethylene
Reinforced
Net: Reinforced with 10mm surround rope and 10mm diagonal cross rope for improved
strength. Additional reinforcement available at request.
Hooks: Nets
can be designed to accommodate Carabine snap hooks or D-shackles.
Application:
To protect miners from falling down into ore pass systems and from rocks falling
on miners while drilling.

Development End Net
Size:
7m x 3m
Mesh size: 100mm by 100mm or 150mm by 150mm
Net rope diameter:
6mm made from High Density Polyethylene
Reinforced Net: Net installed
with one 16mm Main Support rope and two 12mm stabilization ropes. All 3 ropes
are extended by 1 metre on both sides of the net to ensure easy and proper installation.
Application:
Used at developing ends and offers protection for miners and equipment against
falling rocks while they are performing drilling duties.

Application:
For increased safety to miners and equipment against falling rocks while they
are conducting face drilling.
SABS
Impact Test Results
Impact
tests were carried out at the structural engineering laboratory of the SABS on
Alnet's Safety Nets.
Standard Safety Net
Report:
651/82289/87
Result:
A mass of 77kg was dropped onto the net from a max. height of 3m. The
net withstood the impact energy of this drop which amounted 2304.4 J.
Ore
Pass Safety Net
Report:
3024/82680/98
Result:
The nets could hold an impact load similar to that of a body weighing 100kg falling
from a height of 15m with a potential impact energy of 14715 J.
